Remember way back to November 2019?
Our Robert Haley had only been on the job just over 1 year and already had eyes on a bigger office. Dr. Haley had the San Dieguito Union High School pay over $250,000 for feasibility studies, and renderings of his new Taj Majal. We wonder if the "private gym," would have a marble floor. We were also wondering how the office with it's own private kitchen and lobby helps kids learn better? Does it Rob?
The construction of a new office on the Earl Warren Middle School site comes with a $20.8 million price tag, which includes soft costs such as an environmental review and parcel split costs and $3 million for furnishings.
“The challenge is financing,” Haley said. “The need is there, the location is ideal and we all know the value we could get out of a new educational center. The question is, how can we get there?”
The question is actually... why do (did) we need it? The other question is.. Why would you take away a sports field from the middle school to accomplish this? We've seen your bonds in Northern Cal.
NO WAY! 52 million for a building at a school with 1,500 students...
Perhaps it is the continued pattern of arrogance...
